Biomined: Biotech + DeFi startup

Biomined is a biotech + DeFi project by ValleyDAO, using microorganisms to extract valuable metals from electronic waste. ValleyDAO approached me to design and develop a landing page that would revitalise the token launch and position the project as a compelling investment opportunity.

The cutting-edge scientific nature of the project sounds as if it came from a sci-fi future. We decided to make that feeling tangible through immersing a user into a whole fictional sci-fi world.

When you land on the page, you’re entering the website of a dystopian corporation in the year 2130. After centuries of over-mining, most of the Earth’s metal resources are depleted, economies have collapsed, and Biomined emerges as the dominant player who turns waste into a new source of metals.

The fiction, however, is a direct extension of real-world issues: resource depletion, e-waste, and environmental damage. The sci-fi setting therefore highlights the relevance of Biomined technology and positions it as a natural solution worth investing in.

The main challenge of the project was to balance a dystopian corporate sci-fi aesthetic with the real-world credibility of the technology and its environmental impact, while appealing to a crypto-native audience.

I handled the project end-to-end, from visual direction and logo design to custom illustrations and a fully bespoke landing page built in Webflow with JavaScript animations. The result is a bold, hypermodern platform that drives investor engagement through a gamer-inspired aesthetic, combining frenetic animated text with retro-futuristic digital graphics.
