Free Jabriya entertainment studio

Free Jabriya is a boutique entertainment agency based in Kuwait. They organise large-scale shows at the Gulf countries’ biggest venues, as well as film original TV shows that speak to today’s generation.

They approached me to design and build a website that would reflect their modern, edgy, and dynamic identity, while also showcasing the high quality of their work. The site needed to speak to a young audience engaged with contemporary pop culture in the GCC region.

Challenges

• Creating a bold and trendy feel while keeping the site professional and easy to navigate

• Make the site engaging and interactive without overwhelming users.

The client already had a brand font in mind, Acumin Variable Concept. It's an incredibly versatile modern grotesk, and I chose its bold, wide variations in all caps for accent elements to create a strong typographic presence. 

We opted for an edgy black background, and I added electric blue as a vibrant accent colour, which matched perfectly with their video materials.

For that trendy dynamic feel, I incorporated animations and interactive elements, such as typographic marquee as a recurrent visual motif, subtle scroll and hover interactions, horizontal scroll effect for Project pages. All animations were built directly in Webflow.
